Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Assistant Manager (Mechanical Maintenance): Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Assistant Manager (Electrical): Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Assistant Manager (WTP): Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Assistant Manager (Civil): Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Assistant Manager (Quality): Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. Post Graduate Diploma in Power Plant O&M from NPTI/CEA-approved training institute is preferred. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in areas like thickness survey, DPT, MPI, RT, fit-up, weld visual, hardness, coil alignment, RCA of mechanical maintenance failure, incoming material inspection, surface profile inspection, painting DFT, hardness, adhesion test, and refractory/insulation inspection.
- Assistant Manager (HR-CSR): MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Assistant Manager (HR-R&R): MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Assistant Manager (Finance): CA/CMA or MBA/PGDM in Finance with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Assistant Manager (IT): Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/IT Engineering or MCA with minimum 60% marks. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Special Technical Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical/Electrical) with minimum 60% marks. Preference for candidates with experience in Power Station monitoring and MIS preparation. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
Note: Qualifications must be from regular full-time courses approved by UGC/AICTE/ICA/CMA, not part-time, distance learning, or correspondence courses. Candidates must provide self-attested copies of educational certificates, experience certificates, and caste/PwBD certificates (if applicable) with the hard copy application.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 32 years as on 01/07/2025 for all posts.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- SEBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Women: 5 years (additional for SC/ST/SEBC women)
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Govt. of Odisha rules
Candidates eligible for more than one category of relaxation will receive only the most beneficial one. The date of birth as per Birth Certificate or High School Certificate (or equivalent) issued by a recognized Board/Council is accepted. PwBD candidates must provide a Medical Certificate verifying 40% or more permanent disability.

Selection Process
The selection process for the posts includes:
- Stage 1: Shortlisting based on eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, and experience.
- Stage 2: Written Test (Objective/Multiple Choice Questions) or Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- Stage 3: Personal Interview.
- Stage 4: Document Verification.
Note: Mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee a call for the Written Test/Interview. OPGC reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on organizational requirements. Final selection is based on performance in the Written Test/Interview and verification of documents.
