OTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

For Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5)

Candidates must have passed:

• Higher Secondary (+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/CT) OR
• Graduation with a 2-year D.El.Ed OR
• +2 with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed OR
• +2 with 50% + 2-year Diploma in Special Education

For Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8)

Candidates must have:

• Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed OR
• Graduation with 50% + 1-year B.Ed OR
• Graduation with 45% + B.Ed (as per NCTE) OR
• +2 with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed / B.A.B.Ed / B.Sc.B.Ed

Note: Relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/PwD candidates.

• All questions are MCQ type with 4 options.

Selection Process

The OTET 2025 is a qualifying examination only – there is no further selection round, such as an interview or document verification, for issuing the eligibility certificate. The entire selection depends on performance in the written exam (Paper 1 / Paper 2 / Both).
