RECRUITMENT OF FOREST SECTION OFFICERS – 2025

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Notification No. 07/2025 (dated 22 July 2025) to recruit Forest Section Officers under the AP Forest Subordinate Service.

APPSC is the constitutional recruitment body of Andhra Pradesh, responsible for conducting competitive exams to fill executive and subordinate posts in various departments.

Brief Information about Job Post

Online applications are invited for 100 Forest Section Officer posts (70 fresh + 30 carried forward vacancies).

Forest Section Officers work on forest management, conservation, wildlife administration, and community liaison at the sectional level in AP forest divisions.

Positions reserved for meritorious sportspersons (MSP) are included

Eligibility Criteria

Educational: Graduate in science or engineering disciplines listed above from a recognized university.
Age: 18–30 years as on 01 July 2025; standard category relaxation for SC/ST/BC/EWS etc.
Additional physical standards may apply (e.g. vision, medical fitness) as per forest departmental rules.
Andhra Pradesh domicile is preferred; sports quota applicable to MSP certificate holders.

Selection Process

Screening Test (Prelims) – Objective multiple choice (150 questions): General Studies & Mental Ability + Forestry-related general forestry topics (150 marks, 150 minutes)
Main Written Examination – Detailed paper on forestry and allied subjects
Physical Test / Endurance – as per fitness standards
Document Verification – Final selection based on aggregate merit from mains and interview/physical test if applicable.
