Note:

• Excise Inspector (Direct) and Sub Inspector are statewide; Sergeant and Woman Fire & Rescue Officer are district-wise; Women Civil Excise Officer is specific to Idukki (Muslim community).
• Ranked Lists for Excise Inspector and Woman Fire & Rescue Officer are valid for one year, while Sergeant and Sub Inspector lists may extend up to three years or until a new list is published.
• Differently Abled candidates are ineligible for all posts. Male candidates are ineligible for Women Civil Excise Officer and Woman Fire & Rescue Officer.
• Sergeant selection follows a 2:1 ratio (Direct:By Transfer). Women Civil Excise Officer is a second NCA notification due to insufficient qualified candidates in prior lists.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

• Excise Inspector (Trainee) – Direct & By Transfer (Cat.No.187/2025, 188/2025): B.A, B.Sc, or B.Com degree from a recognized university or equivalent; SSLC for Ex-Servicemen.
• Sergeant – Direct & By Transfer (Cat.No.207/2025–208/2025):
  1. Pensioned Junior Commissioned Officer (Army/Navy/Air Force), or
  2. Literacy in English with 10 years’ military service, or
  3. SSLC or equivalent with 10 years’ police service or 6 months’ military training. Working knowledge of Malayalam, Tamil, or Kannada is essential.
• Sub Inspector of Police (Trainee) (Cat.No.221/2025): Graduation; if insufficient SC/ST candidates, Intermediate/Pre-University Examination from a recognized university.
• Women Civil Excise Officer (Trainee) (Cat.No.247/2025): Plus Two or equivalent.
• Woman Fire & Rescue Officer (Trainee) (Cat.No.215/2025): Plus Two or equivalent; Diploma in Computer Application (preferential).

Note: Equivalent/higher qualifications recognized by government orders are acceptable. Candidates must produce relevant certificates as required by KPSC.

Physical Qualifications

• Excise Inspector (Trainee) – Direct & By Transfer:
  
  • Male: Height 165 cm (160 cm for SC), Chest 81 cm with 5 cm expansion.
  • Female: Height 152 cm (150 cm for SC).
  • Vision: 6/6 Snellen (distant), 0.5 Snellen (near), full field of vision, no color blindness, squint, or eye/lid conditions.
  • Physical Fitness: Certified by a Medical Officer (Civil Surgeon Gr.-II or above) for strenuous outdoor work, free from defects like knock-knee, flat feet, varicose veins, etc.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualify in 5/8 events (e.g., 100m run: 14s male/17s female, High Jump: 132.2 cm male/106 cm female, etc.).
• Sergeant:
  
  • Height: 167 cm (160 cm for SC/ST), Chest: 81 cm with 5 cm expansion (76 cm for SC/ST).
  • Vision: 6/6 Snellen (distant), 0.5 Snellen (near), full field of vision, no color blindness or eye defects.
  • Free from physical defects like knock-knee, flat feet, etc. Medical Certificate required.
• Sub Inspector of Police (Trainee):
  
  • Height: 160.02 cm, Chest: 81.28 cm with 5.08 cm expansion.
  • Vision: 6/6 Snellen (distant), 0.5 Snellen (near), full field of vision, no color blindness or eye defects.
  • Free from physical defects. Medical Certificate from District Medical Officer required.
  • PET: Qualify in 5/8 events (e.g., 100m run: 14s, High Jump: 132.2 cm, etc.).
• Women Civil Excise Officer (Trainee):
  
  • Height: 152 cm.
  • Vision: 6/6 Snellen (distant), 0.5 Snellen (near), full field of vision, no color blindness or eye defects.
  • Free from physical defects. Medical Certificate from Assistant Surgeon/Junior Consultant required.
  • Endurance Test: 2.5 km run in 15 minutes.
  • PET: Qualify in 5/8 events (e.g., 100m run: 17s, High Jump: 1.06m, etc.).
• Woman Fire & Rescue Officer (Trainee):
  
  • Height: 152 cm (150 cm for SC/ST).
  • Vision: 6/6 Snellen (distant), 0.5 Snellen (near), full field of vision, no color blindness or eye defects.
  • Free from physical defects. Medical Certificate from Civil Surgeon Gr.-II required.
  • Swimming Test: 50m in 2:15, 2-minute floating in deep water.
  • PET: Qualify in 5/8 events (e.g., 100m run: 17s, High Jump: 106 cm, etc.).

Note: Physical measurements are taken before PET/endurance/swimming tests. Candidates failing to meet standards are disqualified. Injuries during tests do not warrant reattempts.

Age Limit

• Excise Inspector (Direct): 19–31 (born between January 2, 1994, and January 1, 2006).
• Excise Inspector (By Transfer): Up to 45 years (born on or after January 2, 1980).
• Sergeant (Direct): 18–36 (born between January 2, 1989, and January 1, 2007).
• Sergeant (By Transfer): No age limit.
• Sub Inspector (ST): 20–36 (born between January 2, 1989, and January 1, 2005).
• Women Civil Excise Officer (Muslim): 19–34 (born between January 2, 1991, and January 1, 2006).
• Woman Fire & Rescue Officer: 18–26 (born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2007).
• Relaxations: Usual relaxations for SC/ST, OBC, and Ex-Servicemen as per norms, up to a maximum of 50 years (except Woman Fire & Rescue Officer).

Additional Requirements

• Excise Inspector:
  • Pass Account Test (Lower), Excise Tests Parts A & B, and District Office Manual/Manual of Office Procedure within probation.
  • 12-month training prescribed by the Commissioner of Excise.
  • By Transfer candidates require a Service Certificate verifying probationer/approved probationer status.
• Sergeant: Service Certificate for By Transfer candidates.
• Sub Inspector: Sports, Military Training, or NCC membership as additional qualifications.
• Women Civil Excise Officer: 6-month basic training; stipend during training; ineligible for substantive post until training completion.
• Woman Fire & Rescue Officer:
  • 6-month training at State Fire Service Training School, followed by 6-month practical training at a Fire Station.
  • Pass written/practical tests; up to two retests allowed, or discharge from service.
  • Execute a bond to serve 7 years or pay ₹50,000 penalty.

Weightage Marks: NCC Certificates (A: 2%, B: 3%, C: 5%), SPC Certificates, and meritorious sports achievements add marks as per government orders.

Selection Process

• Excise Inspector, Sub Inspector, Women Civil Excise Officer, Woman Fire & Rescue Officer: Written/OMR/Online Test (if conducted), Physical Efficiency Test (and Endurance/Swimming Test where applicable), Document Verification, Medical Certificate Verification.
• Sergeant: Document Verification, Medical Certificate Verification, Interview (if applicable).
• Note: Candidates must confirm exam participation via One Time Registration profile to download Admission Tickets (available 15 days before the test).

Step 1: Register via One Time Registration on www.keralapsc.gov.in.
Step 2: Log in with User-ID and password, click ‘Apply Now’ for the desired post.
Step 3: Fill out the application form, ensuring community details match SSLC records (Gazette Notification required for discrepancies).
Step 4: Upload required documents (recent photograph taken within 6 months, educational certificates, experience/service certificates, community certificates for reserved posts, Medical Certificate for physical fitness).
