Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess the following qualifications from a recognized institution:

  • Technical Assistant (Mechanical/Electronics): First-class three-year Diploma in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Sub Officer: Leading Fireman/DCOs with 6 years experience and Sub-Officer’s Certificate (from NFSC, Nagpur, or specified Regional Fire Service Training Centres), OR B.Sc with PCM + Sub-Officer’s Certificate + minimum 2 years experience as Leading Fireman post-course. Must possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving (HVD) Licence.
  • Technician ‘B’ (Turner/Fitter/Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Mechanic): SSLC/SSC pass + ITI/NTC/NAC in respective trade (Turner, Fitter, or Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Mechanic) from NCVT.
  • Heavy Vehicle Driver ‘A’: SSLC/SSC/Matric/10th Standard pass + 5 years experience (minimum 3 years as Heavy Vehicle Driver, balance as Light Motor Vehicle driver) + valid HVD Licence and Public Service Badge (if statutory).
  • Light Vehicle Driver ‘A’: SSLC/SSC/Matric/10th Standard pass + 3 years experience as Light Vehicle Driver + valid LVD Licence.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 35 years (as of 26.08.2025)
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (for reserved posts), and additional relaxations for Ex-servicemen, PWBD, and other eligible categories.

Selection Process

The selection process varies by post:

  • Technical Assistant, Technician ‘B’ (Posts 792, 793, 795, 796, 797):
    • Written Test: 90 minutes, 80 MCQs, curriculum-based, with negative marking (-0.33 per wrong answer).
    • Skill Test: ‘Go-no-go’ basis, shortlisting in a 1:5 ratio, not counted for final selection.
    • Final selection based on written test scores; academic scores as a tie-breaker.
  • Sub Officer (Post 794):
    • Preliminary Medical Examination (PME) certificate submission.
    • Written Test: 120 minutes, 100 MCQs, fire safety syllabus, with negative marking (-0.25 per wrong answer).
    • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Stage 1 (running) and Stage 2 (rope climbing, dummy carry, long jump, 100m run), ‘go-no-go’ basis.
    • Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
    • Final selection based on written test scores among DME-qualified candidates.
  • Heavy/Light Vehicle Driver ‘A’ (Posts 798, 799):
    • Written Test: 120 minutes, 100 MCQs (Motor Vehicles Act, English, Arithmetic, General Knowledge), with negative marking (-0.25 per wrong answer).
    • Skill Test: ‘Go-no-go’ basis, evaluated on 100-point scale (minimum 60% to qualify).
    • Final selection based on written test scores; academic scores as a tie-breaker.
  • Document Verification (all posts).
  • Medical Fitness Test (for Sub-Officer).
