Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
All candidates must hold a PhD in the relevant area of specialization. The UG and PG requirements vary by department:
- First Class in UG and PG degrees is mandatory (minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale, where class is not specified).
- Candidates with a direct PhD after UG from reputed institutions will also be considered.
- Candidates with Integrated Master’s or Integrated PhD in specified areas are also eligible.

Age Limit
- No specific upper age limit is prescribed for most categories.
- Fresh appointments beyond 60 years are considered only for distinguished candidates with impactful, industry-oriented R&D careers and ongoing/approved externally funded projects.
Experience
- More than 6 months of experience in a regular position with a pay scale is required to be counted as work experience.
- Part-time, daily-wage, visiting, guest, or temporary faculty experience will not be counted.
- Post-Doctoral experience from institutions in QS/THE World Rankings up to 500 is considered for Assistant Professor posts.
- Candidates with a PhD from NITK can apply only after completing at least 3 years of post-PhD experience outside NITK.

Selection Process
The selection process for NITK Faculty Recruitment 2026 includes:
